After 11 years, the evolution was a natural progression and the band now highlights the best music from every decade – the 70's, 80's and 90's – great music from today and a promise to entertain.
Featuring Tod Johnston as longtime frontman, his energy and approach cannot be missed. He has enjoyed television success with Channel 9 in Perth as the award winning weather presenter – he has broadcast his own radio show on 720ABC Perth with the highest rating talkback afternoon show in its' timeslot – he's made friends right around the state and yet through it all, his first love next to his family, was music. During Tod's television and radio days, there was always music in his weekend life. The band has always been the best but now it just gets better – new music and a new lease on life.
The band comprises 5 members, all of whom have extensive professional careers spanning many years. Consisting of vocals, drums, 2 guitars and keyboards, Peace Love are able to create extremely talented and accurate renditions of all the classics songs.
The members of Peace Love are totally committed to the provision of a highly professional show, whether it be in corporate contexts or otherwise. Highly adaptable, this group is suitable for just about any of your entertainment requirements, from performing in large stadiums to playing in small lounges.
Bio
Tod Johnston(Vocals) – Well known in Perth for both his work on Network television and his role as lead singer in the popular 80’s group V – Capri, Tod has dedicated his professional life towards maintaining extremely high standards of entertainment whether it be performing in front of a camera or at the front of a band.
His presence in Peace Love merely reinforces the group’s position as one of Perth’s most respected and professional outfits. Tod’s personality and energy is unrivalled, and, combined with his many years of experience in the industry, makes him one of the most sought after vocalists in the city.
Billy Germain(Drums) – One of Perth’s most respected skinmen, Billy worked with many groups across different genres, before joining Peace Love . His style has won him many admirers. Without Billy, there would be no beat, no peace and no love! Any band is only as good as its rhythm section, and Peace Love is blessed to have one of the best sections going around.
Rob Watson(Bass Guitar) – Whether it is an upright or traditional Bass Guitar, Rob has the expertise to play it. His extremely high level of musical aptitude sees him as an important link in the chain. Rob brings many years of varied musical experiences to the table, and it is this versatility which makes him so important to the group. After all, the music this was varied, and this is the way that Rob approaches his role with the band. Adaptability is what Rob does best and you only need to watch him play for a few minutes to appreciate his true musical talent.
Richard Hart(Lead/Rhythm Guitar) – The quintessential guitarist. Richard plays straight from the heart, which, combined with his extensive musical knowledge and love of a good riff or solo makes him the best possible guitarist that this band could have in its lineup. His personal love for the music that he plays translates into scintillating performances with unrivalled passion and feeling, an attitude which rubs off not only on the other members of the band, but the audience as well.
John Calabrese( Keyboards) - John has played around the west in many bands and has always maintained a professional and powerful persona. He achieves without to much effort and his music comes naturally. He is the newest member to join the outfit and fits into the line-up as though he joined some 11 years ago.
