Sue Bluck

 

Soulful blues, jazz, latin and a bit of Motown are all on the musical menu for jazz pianist and singer Sue Bluck. Her versatility showcases a wide spectrum of musical genres.

A freelance musician and vocalist performing from solo piano to duo, trio, quartet and quintet, Sue has worked with many excellent groups and ensembles in Perth and Sydney. She is a founding member of the Jazz Divas and of the vocal group Birdland.

Notable performances include His Majesty's Theatre (Babaret Soiree and the Lunchtime concert series and the Morning Melodys accompanying Jill Perryman); Sundays at Subi concert series and regular appearances with Tod Johnston's In the Lounge. She has supported James Morrison, The Commodores and Jose Feliciano amongst countless others.
Performing smooth contemporary sounds, Sue always delivers a classy and professional performance.

Sue on vocals and keyboard teams with Robbie Pisano on electric or acoustic double bass. Their repertoire ranges from great jazz / latin and blues standards, popular contemporary themes and love songs - a sophisticated ambience for any intimate or special occasion.

Soul funk, cool grooves, Motown and jazzy instrumentals are all on the menu! This outfit adds Dave Brewer to the lineup - one of the great guitar Bluesmen of Australia - whose smooth vocals and guitar add another dimension to their fat groovy sound.

It's also the perfect vehicle for original material taken from Sue's latest albums as well as compositions from Dave and Paul.

Robbie Pisano Electric And Acoustic Double Bass

Robbie PisanoRobbie has attained a Bachelor of Jazz Performance from W.A.A.P.A. and has played a wide spectrum of music genres earning himself a well respected reputation for his versatility, experience and groove.
Robbie has worked on the Eastern seaboard working and touring with National and International shows such as
“Five Guys named Moe”, “Blues in the Night”, 42nd Street”, “Wogs out of work” and Demis Roussos and was engaged in residencies at Cairns International Hotel and at numerous corporate functions and resorts.
Robbie continues to work in various venues and outfits in Perth, his professionalism and commitment ensuring he continues to maintain a high standard of musicianship and performance.

 

Greg Brenton Drums

Greg Brenton is a drummer who can be seen in various places around the Perth music scene. He currently plays live with the Sue Bluck Quintet, contemporary big band jazz with the Mace Francis Orchestra, R&B with eight piece band The Roast, blues with local outfit Stingray and various other acts that span the jazz, rock, folk and blues scenes.
Maintaining a busy teaching schedule, Greg graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Jazz Performance from W.A.A.P.A in 2005, and is now also studying for a Post Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education.

 

 

Paul Millard Saxophones, Flute

Paul has played professionally for 25 yrs throughout Australia primarily in Perth and Sydney. He is an active backing musician to many International and local artists including Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Lou Rawls, Shirley Bassey, Tom Burlinson, as well as performing regularly with local jazz, blues and popular music groups.
Paul has performed in numerous theatrical productions including “42nd Street”, “Hot shoe shuffle”, “Boy from Oz”, “Dirty Dancing” and “Dusty”.
Paul is also very busy in studio production and as a freelance musician.

 

 

Dave Brewer Guitar

Dave has a biography so comprehensive…… with a successful career throughout Australia being well known as one of the great guitar Bluesmen of Australia.
He began playing with Perth Blues band “The Elks” and after they shifted base to Sydney, later joined the Soul/R&B band “The Dynamic Hepnotics”.
Throughout the 1990’s Dave’s primary focus was the “Mighty Reapers” where they would release 5 CD’s for the Rufus Records label, as well as many performances throughout the East Coast.
He was a founding member of “The Catholics” performing with this outfit on numerous Australian national tours, two tours to Canada and one throughout Europe where the band performed at both the Montreal and North Sea Jazz Festivals.
Dave moved back to his hometown of Perth in 2000 and has since been playing regularly with “Diamond Dave and the DooDaddies”, Lucky Oceans, Jonathon Cope, ”Supremely Motown” and the Sue Bluck Quintet as well as various local blues outfits.
